Yer la’al yam – your little home. Named for one of Manesty’s old fields, Tommy Bit is tucked beneath Manesty’s small wooded fellside. He is recently built hut based on the design of old when shepherds would wheel their huts into the fields in the summer to look after their sheep, living at one with nature.
Tommy Bit is the ultimate glamping experience, combining luxurious glamping accommodation with a real opportunity to get close to nature. Furnished carefully with a mix of tasteful antiques and vintage items, as well as brand new equipment where needed, you will be talking about your idyllic ‘la’al yam’ long after your stay.

The Hut
- Cosy 11ft x 6ft6 traditionally styled wooden shepherd’s hut, clad on the outside with English oak.
- English larch cladding inside, with oak trim.
- Wood burning stove (wood supplied).
- Full length fold down double bed (4ft x 6ft3) with comfy sprung mattress.
- Bed folds, while fully made up, into sofa.
- Dining stools and folding table.
- Luxurious anti-allergy bedding (cosy topper and duvet).
- Storage space for your clothes and other belongings.
- Small belfast style sink/basin (hot and cold water).
- Electric kettle, toaster, microwave and (silent) fridge.
- Crockery, cutlery and suitable cooking equipment.
- Fire pit/bbq, tools & wood.
- Access to shared games cupboard with books, games and puzzles.
- Rechargable torch (for getting to the loo in the night!).
- Please note there is no television and no cooking facilities other than the toaster, kettle and microwave inside the hut, and the fire pit/bbq outside the hut.
Shower Room
- Spacious and stylish shower room adjacent to the hut. Added in 2020.
- Rain head shower.
- Big fluffy white bath sheets and hand towels provided.
- Utility cupboard with washing machine and drying space.
- Dedicated use for guests staying in Tommy Bit.
Views
- Beautiful woodland views from the hut windows.
- Valley views from the hut doors and outdoor seating area.
Outside
- Fire pit/BBQ (wood provided).
- Solid oak (sawn from our own oak tree which fell in a storm) bench/table.
- Table and chairs.
- Nearby woodland walk with panoramic views in our small private wooded fell side.
- Hot tub, bookable for exclusive use by the day for an additional charge.
- Storage space in converted small authentic sheep trailer for outdoor furniture and your own outdoor equipment.
