The result is a beautiful ground floor cottage that sympathetically blends the original stonework and beams of the old byre with a modern vaulted ceiling extension that curves along the contour of the fellside to make the most of the spectacular views.  The cottage is extremely spacious and the fixtures and fittings are of a very high quality, with La-Z-Boy leather arm chairs, solid oak floors and a sound system.       High Seat is the southern farm building which was extended and converted into a detached bungalow in the 1960s. The huge picture windows looking south down the valley from the kitchen and sitting room flood the cottage with light and give it a distinctly 20th century feel, but the massive boulders in the walls of the bedrooms point to the cottage’s origins.  Being all on one floor, High Seat is well-suited to families with young children and guests with restricted mobility.  It’s also the cottage with easiest access to the hot tub.

          Yer la’al yam – your little home.  Named for one of Manesty’s old fields, Tommy Bit is tucked beneath Manesty’s small wooded fellside. He is recently built hut based on the design of old when shepherds would wheel their huts into the fields in the summer to look after their sheep, living at one with nature.

          Tommy Bit is the ultimate glamping experience, combining luxurious glamping accommodation with a real opportunity to get close to nature. Furnished carefully with a mix of tasteful antiques and vintage items, as well as brand new equipment where needed, you will be talking about your idyllic ‘la’al yam’ long after your stay.

            Our single caravan is 26ft long and occupies an elevated, sheltered and private position, nestled at the foot of our little fellside woodland. Unafraid of its roots, it has a retro vibe, offering a cool and affordable glamping style holiday in an idyllic countryside setting. It still has many of the original fittings (including the pink bathroom suite!) and has been really well cared for over its lifetime.

            Behind the caravan the wooded fell side is home to our resident tawny owl and red squirrels. To the front are fabulous views across the valley. The caravan is great for wildlife enthusiasts as much of the activity can be watched from inside at the breakfast table or from the sofa!

                Manesty Band sits at the front of our rocky outcrop overlooking the fields, woods and fells of Borrowdale.  The cottage was converted from a barn in the 19th Century and the Victorians added a lovely wooden porch and huge bay window to make the most of the spectacular view across the valley.

                The history of the building is reflected inside, with a roll-top bath, patchwork bedspreads and a mix of late 19th/early 20th Century antiques. Manesty Band’s big country kitchen has been furnished with beautiful solid oak and slate worktops, a range cooker and underfloor heating.  Together with the large sitting room, there is plenty of space to socialise with friends and family.  If you need more than four bedrooms, Manesty Band can be booked with either High Seat, or Manesty or Manesty Dairy, to sleep up to 14.

                  Cocklety How Studio is an self-contained open plan apartment for 2.  The Studio forms part of the first floor of Cocklety How, a converted traditional Lakeland barn that sits at the foot of Catbells overlooking the fields, woods and fells of Borrowdale. It was originally the way into the hay loft in the top of the barn. It has a stunning view east from the main room across Borrowdale. The kitchen and patio look over the wooded fellside to the west.

                  An interconnecting door allows the Studio and Cocklety How Stable Loft to be occupied together to accommodate 7 guests in 4 bedrooms.
