General Amenities
These amenities are available for all our guests at Manesty staying in any of our accommodation. Amenities specific to each accommodation are listed further below.
Computers, tablets and phones
Internet We have free wireless internet (wifi).
Telephone Mobile reception is adequate but sometimes patchy inside.
Gardens, grounds and outside
Hot Tub We have an outdoor wood fired hot tub to hire for exclusive use at an additional cost.
Garden accessories Garden furniture is provided for all our accommodation. A mobile charcoal barbecue is available which is shared between all guests. We do not provide charcoal, please bring your own.
Bicycles and outdoor equipment We can store bikes and other equipment in a discrete outdoor area. Please let us know if you will need to use it before you arrive if possible. Bicycles and other outdoor equipment must not be stored inside the accommodation or in the porches.
Child facilities High chairs, cots and cot mattresses are provided free of charge on request in the cottages where babies are accommodated, but we do not provide cot bedding.
Utilities
Cleaning You will find your accommodation clean and tidy when you arrive. Upon departure the cottage should be left in the same condition. Please note that prices do not include any servicing of the accommodation during your stay. We provide cleaning consumables, floor cloth/mop, duster, two toilet rolls per toilet, bathroom hand towel, kitchen sponge, kitchen hand towel, oven cloth, dishcloth, tea towel, bin liner. Please bring any additional items you may need, including paper towels, additional toilet rolls and bin liners.
Laundry All accomodation except Cocklety How Studio have their own laundry facilities, see the specific amenities sections below. All accommodation has an outdoor washing line.
Electricity Prices include all electricity and heating in all accommodation.
Water supply Our private supply of clear soft spring water is sterilised by chemical free ultra violet treatment and tested annually by Cumbria County Council.
Miscellaneous
Parking There is one parking space next to each accommodation (unless otherwise specified on the individual accommodation page). Additional space is available near Youdale Knot, about 60 yds from the cottages. Please let us know if you will be bringing lots of cars so that we can prepare if necessary!
Shopping There is a Booths supermarket in Keswick (5 miles), many outdoor clothing shops as well as many other shops in the centre of Keswick. There are no other closer shops.
Guests’ mail c/o Leyland, Youdale Knot, Manesty, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5UG. We can usually take delivery of other things for you too, please just check in advance that this is possible. Royal Mail and other delivery companies do not deliver to specific accommodation addresses.

Cooking in Manesty, High Seat, Cocklety How Stable Double electric oven/grill with 4 plate ceramic hob, separate mircowave.
Cooking in Manesty Dairy Single electric oven/grill with 3 plate ceramic hob, separate combination mircowave/grill/oven.
Fridge/freezers All cottages have a fridge and 4* freezer. Additional freezer space is available in the shared utility room if you need it.
Crockery, cultery, pots and pans Usual cooking and dining equipment is provided in all the cottages.
Dishwashers All cottages have a dishwasher.
Laundry All cottages have a washing machine and tumble dryer. All the cottages have a clothes airer, outdoor washing line, iron and ironing board.
Child facilities Babies can be accommodated in any of the cottages and high chairs are provided free of charge on request.
Consumables
Kitchens Liquid hand soap, washing up liquid, kitchen spray, cream cleaner, dishwasher tablets, washing up brush, sponge, dishcloth, tea towel, oven glove,hand towel and a bin liner are provided. Please bring your own paper towels, tea and coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc.
Bathrooms Bathroom spray, sponge, liquid hand soap, hand towel, bath mat, two toilet rolls per toilet and a bin liner are provided. Please bring additional toilet rolls and your own personal toiletries such as shower gel and shampoo.
Bedrooms
Beds All beds have sprung mattresses (Sealey beds/Silent Night, made in nearby Aspatria).
Bedding Bedding is anti allergy. Each bed has two pillows per person, a hollow fibre duvet and 100% cotton sheets and duvets covers. Bedding is included in the price and beds are made up for your arrival. Spare blankets are provided and beds can be made up on request with blankets and sheet as an alternative to duvets if you prefer. Fresh linen is provided for stays of longer than a week.
Towels Towels are available for a small charge except in Cocklety How Byre where they are included in the price.
Child facilities Babies can be accommodated in any of the cottages and cots and cot mattresses are provided free of charge on request. We do not provide cot bedding, please bring your own.
Heating and hot water
Hot water Each cottage has its own large, electrically heated hot water cylinder.
Heating All cottages (except Cocklety How Byre) are heated with electric convector heaters on a timed program. Each room has an individual thermostat for flexibility to heat it outside the timed program. Off peak storage heaters are used when neccessary for background heat in winter. Cocklety How Byre has an oil fired boiler with wet central heating on a timed program. Access to the boiler allows flexibility to heat the cottage outside the timed program.
Televisions
Television Each cottage has in the sitting room a smart TV with terrestrial TV channels, free-to-view satellite channels (Freesat) and catch up TV (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 and My5).
Streaming Each TV can be used with guests’ own personal accounts to access subscription services such as Prime Video, Netflix and NowTV. Please bring your log in details with you as we do not subscribe to these services ourselves.
DVDs & Blu-rays Each TV has a DVD & Blu-ray player.
Radio Radio channels are available through the TVs

These amenities are available in Cocklety How Studio (amenities for our Cottages are listed above and for our Caravan and Shepherd’s Hut are listed below)

Laundry There is no washing machine, tumble dryer, iron or ironing board in the studio. Please ask if you require these. There is a clothes-airer in the studio and an outdoor washing line.
Child facilities We regret that babies cannot be accommodated in the studio.

Beds The bed is a super king size double (6ft wide) which can be divided into two 3ft single beds on request. It has sprung mattresses from Sealey Beds/Silent Night made locally in nearby Aspatria.
Bedding Bedding is anti allergy. The bed has two pillows per person, a hollow fibre duvet and 100% cotton sheets and duvets covers. Bedding is included in the price and beds are made up for your arrival. Spare blankets are provided and beds can be made up on request with blankets and sheet as an alternative to duvets if you prefer. Fresh linen is provided for stays of longer than a week.
Towels Towels are available for a small charge on request.
Child facilities We regret that babies cannot be accommodated in the studio.

Heating There is a 3 kilowatt radiant/convector heater in the living area, a 400 watt panel heater in the main bedroom and a 100 watt tubular heater in the bathroom.

Television The caravan a smart TV with terrestrial TV channels, free-to-view satellite channels (Freesat) and catch up TV (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 and My5).
DVDs There is no DVD player.
Amenities in Tommy Bit, our shepherd’s hut
These amenities are available in Tommy Bit, our Shepherd’s Hut (amenities for our Cottages, Studio and Retro Caravan are listed above)
Kitchen area
Cooking There is a mircowave, toaster and electric kettle inside the hut. There is a fire pit outside which can be used to bbq. Wood is provided. If you prefer to bbq on charcoal, please bring your own. Please note: there is no oven and there is no hob.
Fridge/freezers There is a small silent fridge with a small ice box.
Crockery, cultery, pots and pans Appropriate cooking and dining equipment is provided. No saucepans or frying pans are provided as there is no hob on which to use them.
Dishwashers There is no dishwasher.
Laundry There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board in the shepherd’s hut’s dedicated adjacent utility toom. There is no tumble dryer. There is a line outside the hut which can be used as a washing line.
Child facilities Babies and children can only be accommodated in the shepherd’s hut if they are accompanied by just one adult. Unfortunately we cannot provide a cot or high chair due to space constraints. Please enquire for advice if you are considering bringing a child.
Consumables
Kitchen Washing up liquid, kitchen spray, washing up brush, sponge, liquid hand wash, dishcloth, tea towel, a hand towel and a bin liner are provided. A starter supply of tea and coffee and a small jug of milk is prepared for your arrival. Salt and pepper is provided. Please bring your own cooking oil if you need it for the bbq.
Shower room Bathroom spray, sponge, liquid hand soap, hand towel, bath mat, toilet rolls and a bin liner are provided. Please bring your own personal toiletries such as shower gel and shampoo.
Solid Fuel Wood for the stove and fire pit is provided and included in the price. Please bring your own charcoal if you wish to use it for bbq-ing.
Bedrooms
Beds The double bed is full length (6ft 3) but only 4ft wide (compared to a standard 4ft 6 double). It has a sprung mattress.
Bedding Bedding is anti allergy. There two pillows on the bed, a hollow fibre duvet appropriate for the season and 100% cotton sheets. Bedding is included in the price and the bed is made up for your arrival. The bed swings round, fully made up, to be a sofa during the day. There is a spare blanket/rug. Fresh linen is provided for stays of longer than a week. If you require additional bedding please just ask.
Towels Large bath towels (one per person) and two hand towels (one in the shower room, one in the hut) are included in the price.
Child facilities Babies and children can only be accommodated in the shepherd’s hut if they are accompanied by just one adult. Unfortunately we cannot provide a cot or high chair due to space constraints. Please enquire for advice if you are considering bringing a child.
Heating and hot water
Hot water There is an electrically heated hot water cylinder which serves the shower room and shepherd’s hut.
Heating The hut is heated with a wood burning stove, for which wood is provided and included in the price. In the winter, and on request, we also provide an electric fan heater. The hut is well insulated and heats up quickly using either method of heating.
Televisions
Television There is no TV in the shepherd’s hut.

We offer short breaks and full week holidays all year round, with usual arrivals on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, depending on the accommodation.
