We are a bit late with this one, after the overload in the last few days. The picture was taken from Manesty looking north over the lake towards Skiddaw and Blencathra. We have been trying to see the aurora for a long time, but only recently realised that you have to look through the camera… To the naked eye the sky was light like a long mid summer night, with a very slight pinkish green hue, filling the whole northern sky. BUT it was only when we used the “Night Sight” setting on our fancy telephones that we saw this full effect. The autumn nights are drawing in but the bracken has turned and the autumn colours are spreading. (You can see them without a camera!). Get in touch if you would like to seem them.
